Building Copi
Hey there! I'm Elston, and after 18 years in tech, I've learned that business is never a straight path.
My Story So Far
I've worked across different areas like logistics, SaaS, finance, and Web3. I've started businesses, seen them fail, and learned a ton along the way. And honestly? I'm proud of those failures.
In 2024, things got tough. I was 40, without a job, and about to become a dad for the first time. The world around me was messy - tough job market, global tensions, economic challenges. It would have been easy to give up.
But here's the thing: entrepreneurs don't quit. We find another way. 💪🏻
How Copi Started: My Startup Criteria
This time, I was super clear about what I wanted to build. Not just another startup, but something with real potential:
A Business Model That Could Keep Going
I've seen too many startups burn out quickly. With Copi, I wanted a subscription-based model where customers see ongoing value. Recurring revenue isn't just about money - it's about building a sustainable solution that continuously helps teams.
A Clear Market to Sell To
B2B has always been my focus. Why? Because businesses are always looking to solve real problems. Unlike consumer markets that can be unpredictable, B2B customers are willing to invest in tools that demonstrably improve their work.
A Focus on Growth Teams
From my experience, growth teams are the most innovative and open to new solutions. They're always hunting for tools that can give them an edge. These are the teams constantly asking: "How can we do better? How can we improve our results?"
A Product That Could Spread Naturally
Copi not only helps teams close more deals but also allows end customers to see the positive impact, encouraging them to share their experiences. This visibility fosters organic word-of-mouth promotion, as satisfied customers naturally recommend Copi to others, amplifying its reach through genuine user advocacy.
What is Copi?
Copi is a simple tool for B2B growth teams. We use AI to help teams track and understand how customers interact with their content. Our big goal? Help teams understand their customers better and close more deals.
Our Simple Goal
We're not trying to create something super complicated. We just want to build easy-to-use tools that help growth teams understand their customers.
Our mission is simple: make it easier for teams to see what's happening with their customers and help them sell more. No fancy bells and whistles - just clear, helpful information.
What's Next
We're launching on April 1st, 2025. And nope, this isn't a joke - we're the real deal.
In the next few weeks, I'll share more about what we're building. We want to create tools that actually help growth teams do their job, without making things complicated.
To all the growth teams working hard every day: we see you, we're building for you, and we can't wait to help you understand your customers better.
Stay tuned, and let's build something great together.
